APPLICATION DEADLINES
Despite there are no strict deadlines for making a staff exchange application, we strongly advise our Partners to keep in mind two following aspects:

Invitation & Russian visa

According to our internal procedure of issuing official invitations for exchange participants (which are required for Russian visa application) it takes up to 1 week for EU citizens and up to 1 month for non-EU citizens to prepare an official invitation.

We also need up to 2 weeks after receiving an application package for getting confirmation from the host faculty.

Time required to deliver an original invitation to the applicant should be also taken into account: sending invitations by regular post takes 4-5 weeks, but we are also ready to ship invitations via express post (UPS, DHL etc.) at the expenses of the recipient.

After receiving the official invitation, applicant will need up to 2 weeks to get Russian visa.

Due to above mentioned procedures application packages shall be preferably submitted 2-3 months prior to the beginning of the exchange period.

Accommodation and financial support

Organization of accommodation and financial conditions of stay depend on the respective bilateral agreements.

Please remember that if staying in the Russian Federation for more that 7 workdays all foreign citizens should register their residence during the first days after their arrival.

More detailed information on registration procedures is published here.
